NEARLY 100 YEARS OF FLAVOR
EST. 1926
Through The Years
A small burger stand opens on River Road across from Fort Miami, beginning what would become a Northwest Ohio institution.
Andrew Koralewski purchases the restaurant in Maumee and gives it the name "Koral Hamburg" — a shortened version of his family name.
Candy and Vince Flaggert bring Koral to downtown Waterville, establishing the beloved diner that locals would cherish for decades.
Jay and Melody Surdasky take the reins, transforming the interior into a beloved 1950s/60s themed diner while perfecting the menu.
The Waterville diner closes its doors, but the Surdaskys retain ownership of the Koral name, refusing to let the legacy fade.
Koral Hamburg rolls out as a food truck, bringing burgers and nostalgia back to festivals, breweries, and events across Toledo.
Brian and Kathy Burnham proudly purchase the food truck, committed to honoring nearly 100 years of tradition.
The People Behind the Grill
Owners Since 2025
Having moved to the Toledo area in 2014, Brian and Kathy fell in love with the community and with the Koral legacy. When the opportunity arose to purchase the food truck in 2025, they knew it was meant to be.
Their vision is clear: keep Koral locally owned, source ingredients from local partners, and honor the nearly 100 years of history that have made the brand so special. At the same time, they're focused on growing Koral's presence, filling calendars with events, and making sure every burger comes with the same heart and heritage customers have always known.
